Kentucky Aviation Association Continues Momentum with Key Developments from April Board Meeting
Madisonville, KY – May 2025 – The Kentucky Aviation Association (KAA) continues to build momentum in its mission to advocate for and strengthen general aviation across the Commonwealth. During its latest Board of Directors meeting on April 30, 2025, held in Madisonville, the Board took several important steps to advance the organization’s strategic goals.
Key Actions from the April Meeting Include:
- Website Redesign – The Board authorized retaining a firm to redesign and launch a new, modern website to enhance communication and engagement with members and stakeholders.
- Finance Committee Direction – The Finance Committee has been tasked with evaluating and recommending a long-term dues structure to ensure the Association’s sustainability.
- Regional Engagement – Directors from each region have been tasked to meet with all airport boards within their districts to review and discuss KAA’s funding initiative.
Funding Progress
The Association’s capital funding initiative continues to make headway across the state. As of this update, 13 airports have remitted the $20,000 capital payment, and seven (7) additional airports have approved the investment and are in the process of remitting payment. KAA and Kentucky Department of Aviation (KDA) officials have conducted positive meetings with four (4) additional airports and have six (6) more scheduled in the coming month.
The most active regions to date are the North Central and East Districts, which have shown strong participation. The South Central District is also gaining traction. The West and Far West Districts are currently organizing efforts and are expected to make progress in the weeks ahead.
Executive Leadership Search Underway
Another significant development: The KAA Search Committee will meet this week to begin the process of selecting the Association’s first Executive Director. This is a critical step in establishing strong, professional leadership to support the Association’s long-term mission. More information on the search process and timeline will be shared soon.
The Kentucky Aviation Association remains committed to providing a unified voice for general aviation and strengthening the aviation ecosystem throughout the Commonwealth. With ongoing support from local airports, the KDA, and elected officials, KAA is well-positioned to make a lasting impact.
Board Member Vacancy
The West Airport District has a Board Member vacancy. If you are interested in serving or know of someone in this region who would be a good addition, please let us know. We seek to have a well-rounded board with proper representation from each region.
